Hey guys, today we’re talking to Chris Stefanick about “wokism,” cancel culture, and the other current trends that seek to separate us from Christ’s mercy and love.

We’ll learn that:
– Wokism doesn’t expand our view of reality, but instead causes anxiety and worry
– When we run the risk of being “canceled” over our beliefs, we must keep our focus on God’s mercy
– As Catholics, Jesus is the frame through which we view the world, and we shouldn’t be afraid to share His love and truth with others

On today’s podcast, we’re talking about practice and how a strong spiritual life requires consistency and perseverance. Consistency is what transforms average into excellent. Think of great athletes. Many consider Michael Jordan or Tom Brady to be naturals at their sports, but the truth is they were willing to put in more practice time, and effort than their competitors.

On today’s podcast, we’re talking about the temptation to treat faith in God as a transactional process, rather than one that is transformational. We’ll learn that faith, by definition, is not based on proof or guarantees and that once we’ve given God our “yes,” we need to trust in Him.

As men, we are often driven to succeed in our jobs, but we fail at our vocations. In this podcast, we’re talking specifically about our vocation as married men. We’ll learn about the 3 most important aspects of this vocation and how to make sure we’re succeeding in them:
– Being a son to the Father, which has to be truly understood if all other vocations are to go well
– Being a husband, which naturally calls us to humility by putting our spouse’s needs first
– Being a parent, which involves raising children in the faith and setting an example of how to be virtuous.
– How all other vocations flow from these three!

Today we’re talking about how life’s circumstances can negatively affect us on our mission of being ambassadors for Christ. We get caught up in the emotions of a situation and forget that we are called to live our lives with joy, even in the midst of trials. Remember that St. Paul wrote about rejoicing in the Lord while he sat in a prison cell!

In this podcast, we’ll learn that:
– We are called to be the light of the world in all circumstances
– The apostles faced immeasurable trials and continued to praise Christ with joy
– We must learn to be grateful for our journey and keep our focus on Christ.

For this bonus episode, I’m honored to speak to Sr. Miriam James Heidland of The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity. Sr. Miriam has the distinction of being our first female guest in the pew! She is a noted Catholic speaker, author, and co-host of the podcast “Abiding Together.” Sr. Miriam is going to talk to us about what really makes us reach for bad habits and how only the love of Christ can provide sufficient healing.

We’ll learn that:

– Uncovering the root of why we choose bad habits forces us to be honest with ourselves
– Understanding that Jesus didn’t come to fix us but to bring us into communion with Him is a terrifying but ultimately satisfying revelation
– Allowing Jesus to love us when we are most vulnerable is the key to transformation
