On today’s podcast, I’m joined by Deacon Jeff Drzycimski to talk about those times when we feel bogged down in our daily routines. It’s like we’re checking off the to-do list and wondering where God is in all of this.

In this episode, we learn that:
– When we get bogged down in a bunch of tasks, we’re depriving ourselves of joy.
– Looking at each daily task to determine how we are using it to glorify God restores that joy.
– If a task does not bring glory to God, we should ask ourselves why we’re doing it.

Today we’re talking about the temptation to allow the ebb and flow of feelings to guide our faith. Men often tell me that they skip Mass or Bible study because they feel stressed out by their jobs, they aren’t excited by the work that faith requires, or they become impatient when God isn’t answering their prayers.

Today we’re talking to renowned Boston College professor of philosophy Dr. Peter Kreeft about a topic we all face in our lives: suffering. In his book “Making Sense Out of Suffering,” Dr. Kreeft shares an approach that helps us find meaning and purpose during distress and hardship.

– When we suffer, God is there with us
– We cannot negotiate our suffering with God
– A loving, benevolent God creates purpose out of our suffering

Today we’re talking about accepting our role as protectors, a vital responsibility in our marriages and families. Genesis 2:15 says God put man in the Garden of Eden “to cultivate and keep it.” As fathers and husbands, we are called to make sacrifices to serve others and keep our families safe.

– St. Joseph’s example of selflessness and devotion guides us in our role as protectors
– When we tap into our goodness through prayer and reflection, the graces start to flow
– The fellowship of a faith community can help us become better men

Today we’re talking about deceit. Being deceitful is what I call a gateway sin. We may label falsehoods as white lies, fibs — not a big deal. But the more we practice deceit with our family, friends, and co-workers, the darker a habit it becomes. One lie leads to another and another.

– Each day we have a choice of living in virtue or in vice
– If you feel your habit of deceit is growing out of control, you should consult with a spiritual director
– Hard things are worth doing and that includes speaking the truth.
